Former senator Grace Poe told the Independent Commission on Infrastructure (ICI) that all senators in the 19th Congress submitted budget amendments, but stressed these were ratified by both chambers through the bicameral committee and coordinated with the DBM.
Poe denied involvement in any “small committee” where alleged anomalous insertions were said to have been made, distancing herself from corruption allegations.
Senators Joel Villanueva and Jinggoy Estrada also appeared before the ICI, alongside Navotas Rep. Toby Tiangco.
Meanwhile, Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte and Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto signed an agreement with the ICI to help probe questionable infrastructure projects nationwide over the past decade.
The PNP also committed to forming a special task group to validate flood control projects and assist in ensuring transparency and accountability.
