Governors from six provinces expressed gratitude to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for his P321 million aid to families affected by Tropical Storm Basyang (Penha).
The funds will help displaced residents, provide relief goods, and repair damaged roads, bridges, and other infrastructure.
The governors pledged to supplement the national assistance with local funding, emphasizing shared responsibility between national and local governments.
Marcos ordered the release of disaster funds to 34 provinces and eight cities, along with measures to support farmers, accelerate aid distribution, and prevent future flooding.
The governors also praised the administration’s collaboration with LGUs, citing a new MOA with the Department of Education to address classroom shortages nationwide.
