GAWILAN, TWO MORE ATHLETES QUALIFY FOR PARA SWIMMING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Two-time Asian Para Games champion Ernie Gawilan, along with Angel Mae Otom and Marco Tinamisan, have qualified for the World Aquatic Championships set for September 16 to 27 in Singapore.

Last month, they earned their spots at the World Para Swimming World Series in Fuji, Japan.

Gawilan qualified in the men’s S7 400m freestyle and SM7 200m Individual Medley events, while Otom secured her place in the women’s 50m freestyle, backstroke, and butterfly.

Tinamisan qualified in the men’s S3/SB3/SM3 50m, 100m, and 200m freestyle events.

Meanwhile, Ariel Joseph Alegarbes and Gary Bejino aim to qualify through the bipartite system as the team also prepares for the 2024 ASEAN Para Games and 2026 Asian Para Games.
