Motorists face another round of fuel price hikes in the first week of September, with gasoline expected to rise by P0.40 to P0.60 per liter, diesel by P0.80 to P1, and kerosene by about P0.50.
The Department of Energy (DOE) attributed the increases to a sharper-than-expected drop in US oil inventories and the looming impact of new US tariffs on India.
Analysts also pointed to ongoing tensions between Ukraine and Russia, which fuel concerns over supply disruptions.
Market optimism over potential US interest rate cuts and strong demand further pushed prices upward, though the end of the US summer driving season may temper gains.
Final price adjustments will be announced Monday and take effect the following day.
