Fredderick Vida officially confirmed his appointment as Secretary of the Department of Justice (DOJ), succeeding Jesus Crispin Remulla, who is now Ombudsman. Vida made the announcement during the 89th founding anniversary of the National Bureau of Investigation. Malacañang released his appointment paper designating him as “acting secretary.” He joined the DOJ in 2023 and previously held leadership roles in Cavite. Vida rose through the DOJ ranks from Assistant Secretary to Undersecretary before being named OIC in October 2025.
