Former President Rodrigo Duterte has announced his intention to join the legal team defending his daughter, Vice President Sara Duterte, against the impeachment complaint filed against her.
The complaint alleges that the Vice President committed “culpable violation of the Constitution” and “betrayal of public trust” by using confidential funds for purposes not aligned with their intended use.
In response, the former president expressed confidence in his daughter’s integrity and said he would provide legal assistance to ensure a fair process.
Supporters of the Vice President have rallied behind her, dismissing the allegations as politically motivated.
