The NBI and PNP have filed murder and frustrated murder charges against former PCSO general manager Royina Garma and several others over the 2020 assassination of retired police general Wesley Barayuga.
A key witness, Police Lt. Col. Santie Mendoza, implicated Garma and retired police colonel Edilberto Leonardo as masterminds behind the ambush.
The charges were filed before the DOJ following a joint investigation by the NBI and PNP.
Mendoza had testified before the House Quad Committee in September 2024, revealing details of the plot.
The case is now under DOJ review for further proceedings.
