FILIPINO PADDLERS ACHIEVE 9 GOLDS IN RECORD-BREAKING CHAMPIONSHIP PERFORMANCE

With one day remaining at the 2024 ICF Dragon Boat World Championships in Puerto Princesa Baywalk, the Philippines has already surpassed its previous gold medal count from the last tournament in 2018, achieving a total of nine golds.

The Filipino team clinched their latest victory in the 40+ 10-seater mixed 200-meter category with a time of 1:52.17.

Additionally, they secured four silver medals in various events, bringing their overall tally to 10 silvers and six bronzes in the competition.

Despite challenging weather conditions, the paddlers excelled, and the president of the Philippine Canoe Kayak Federation expressed optimism for further gold medals in the final day of competition.

The national team is also preparing for upcoming opportunities, with results influencing qualifications for the World Games in Chengdu, China, in 2025.
