The Philippine boxing team strengthened its preparations for the 2026 Asian Games after winning four gold medals and one bronze in recent tournaments in Serbia and the Netherlands.
Clark Vicera and Riza Pasuit led the campaign, topping their divisions at the 63rd Belgrade Winner Elite Boxing Tournament, with Vicera later adding another gold in the Eindhoven Box Cup alongside Tokyo Olympic silver medalist Carlo Paalam.
In Serbia, Vicera dominated his bouts en route to the men’s 50kg gold, while Pasuit captured the women’s 57kg title without dropping a single scorecard.
In the Netherlands, Vicera and Paalam continued their winning form, with Paalam also defeating a Paris Olympic silver medalist in the semifinals before clinching gold in the 55kg division.
The Association of Boxing Alliances in the Philippines said the results show the team is moving in the right direction ahead of the Asian Games in September.
