Oscar Piastri expressed satisfaction with the flexible rear wing on his McLaren, which has drawn attention following his recent win in Azerbaijan, but emphasized that it isn’t the sole reason for the team’s competitiveness ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix.
The footage showing the wing flexing at high speeds has led to speculation about its impact on performance, but Piastri confirmed that it is legal and passes all necessary tests.
He clarified that the wing does not operate in a “grey area” of the rules, which generally prohibit moving aerodynamic devices except for the DRS system.
Piastri, currently fourth in the standings, acknowledged that scrutiny is expected when a car performs well, but he believes their approach is within the regulations.
While aiming to win more races, he also expressed willingness to assist teammate Lando Norris in his championship bid when necessary.
