The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is set to complete the payment of honoraria to Electoral Board (EB) members who served in the May 12 midterm elections by Friday.
Comelec Chairperson George Garcia said that as of Thursday, 98 percent of the payments had already been processed nationwide.
However, the additional PHP1,000 bonus approved for EB members will be distributed later, as it was not part of the initial disbursement.
The Election Service Reform Act mandates that honoraria must be paid within 15 days after the election.
Over 750,000 poll workers participated in the elections, with chairpersons receiving PHP12,000 and other members PHP11,000 each.
