EARLY VOTING SET FOR VOTERS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS ON MAY 12, SAYS COMELEC

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) announced that senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and pregnant women can cast their votes between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m. on May 12, to avoid crowds and for their convenience.

This early voting option is not mandatory, as polling centers will remain open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Comelec Chairman George Erwin M. Garcia emphasized that the earlier voting time is available to these groups at their discretion.

In addition, the Comelec will set up a priority polling place (PPP) for the elderly and PWDs on the ground floor of precincts.

This change is aimed at improving accessibility and comfort for these voters.
