The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) announced that there are currently no expected price increases for traditional food items consumed on Christmas Eve.
Acting Trade Secretary Cristina Aldeguer Roque assured consumers that prices would remain stable for now.
Discussions are ongoing regarding the retention of this year’s Noche Buena price bulletin, which listed over 240 stock-keeping units (SKUs) last year, with many items experiencing price increases.
The 2023 guide noted that 21 SKUs saw price reductions, while 34 items remained unchanged.
Roque indicated that the 2024 price guide could be released by November, as ongoing talks with manufacturers will continue as the holiday season approaches.
