Newly appointed Tourism Secretary Dita Angara-Mathay is moving to align key attached agencies under a unified strategy to strengthen coordination in the tourism sector.
She met with heads of DOT-attached agencies on April 16 in Makati to discuss priority programs and investments aligned with the Marcos administration’s infrastructure and development agenda.
The meeting was attended by officials from various tourism-related agencies and corporations to ensure coordinated planning and implementation.
Angara-Mathay also emphasized that tourism should serve as a key driver of inclusive economic growth that supports livelihoods and creates opportunities nationwide.
She urged DOT personnel to uphold professionalism and teamwork as the department navigates global economic challenges.
