The Department of Labor and Employment in Bicol (DOLE-5) is finalizing the rollout of its Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program to aid residents of Camarines Norte and Catanduanes affected by Super Typhoon Uwan (Fung-wong).
Regional Director Imelda Gatinao said over ₱160 million has been allotted for emergency employment, including bamboo planting and clearing operations in heavily hit areas.
Of the total, ₱30 million will fund TUPAD projects in Camarines Norte with an additional ₱40 million for profiling, while ₱60 million is allocated for Catanduanes.
Beneficiaries will be registered and provided with protective gear by Friday, with work expected to start Monday and payouts released after ten days.
Gatinao assured continued monitoring of the program through December to ensure effective implementation across affected provinces.
