Candidates from Miss Universe Philippines 2025 joined the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) in honoring the sacrifices of solo-parent overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) during an event at the DMW Aksyon Center in Makati City, in celebration of National Solo Parents Week.
DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac highlighted President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s commitment to prioritizing OFW families, as directed by the late Secretary Toots Ople.
The event emphasized the need for comprehensive social protection services for solo parent OFWs, with support from various government agencies under the Republic Act 11861.
Miss Universe Philippines candidates engaged with solo-parent OFWs and their children, listening to stories of resilience and offering words of encouragement.
DMW Undersecretary Patricia Yvonne Caunan assured the workers that they have a support system in both the DMW and Miss Universe Philippines.
