DEPED LAUNCHES PROJECT HANDA TO ASSESS SCHOOL PREPAREDNESS ACROSS PH

Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Sonny Angara has launched Project Handa to improve nationwide school readiness and ensure a smooth opening of classes on June 8.

The initiative uses data-driven monitoring of school facilities, learner support, and instructional readiness to guide faster and more targeted resource deployment.

Angara said the system responds to the government’s directive to improve education planning by relying on accurate, school-level data instead of guesswork.

Project Handa has already identified billions of pesos in priority needs, including classroom repairs and water, sanitation, and hygiene facilities.

DepEd said the platform also tracks progress in ICT equipment and textbook distribution to ensure all regions are adequately prepared.
