Davao City Representative Paolo Duterte has been granted a travel clearance for 16 countries, including the Netherlands, from March 20 to May 10, 2025.
The clearance follows his intention to visit countries such as China, Japan, the U.S., and several European nations, as well as to visit his father, former president Rodrigo Duterte, who is detained in the Netherlands.
House Secretary-General Reginald Velasco confirmed that Duterte’s travels would take place during congressional recess and at his expense.
Meanwhile, Vice President Sara Duterte is also in The Hague, working on her father’s legal team in connection with his ICC trial.
The Palace remains non-committal to any ICC order regarding the freezing of former President Duterte’s assets, citing the lack of jurisdiction over the Philippines.
