Iloilo City Mayor Raisa Treñas-Chu is facing a complaint filed with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) over alleged violations of the agency’s “anti-epal” policy involving the city’s livelihood program for mothers.
The complaint, lodged by lawyer Josiah David Quising, seeks an investigation into the “TLC ni Inday” program, claiming it promotes the mayor’s nickname in government-funded materials.
Quising cited DILG guidelines prohibiting the use of officials’ names, images, or symbols in public projects, and argued that “Inday” is widely associated with the mayor.
He also asked the DILG to order the removal of noncompliant materials and, if necessary, impose sanctions.
The mayor’s office said it has not yet received an official copy of the complaint and will issue a response once it is formally served.
