Despite a pending election protest, Governor-elect Pamela Baricuatro is set to be inaugurated on June 30, 2025, with a ceremony focused on humility, unity, and community service.
Her camp confirmed that she will take her oath at 1 p.m. as mandated by the Local Government Code, followed by an interfaith thanksgiving and a people’s street party organized by volunteer groups.
Baricuatro has instructed organizers to avoid extravagance, using government-owned materials, volunteer performers, and locally sourced decorations.
The event comes as outgoing Governor Gwendolyn Garcia challenges the election results and faces scrutiny over trust funds created during her final days in office.
Baricuatro, who won over 1.1 million votes, ran on a platform of clean governance and grassroots organizing.
