COMELEC ENSURES FULL PAYMENT OF HONORARIA FOR BSKE POLL WORKERS

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has confirmed that all teachers and personnel who served during the 2023 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) have received their honoraria in full.

According to Comelec Chairman George Garcia, data indicates that 100% of the 605,379 electoral board members and 37,333 supervising officers and support staff from the Department of Education (DepEd) have been duly compensated for their poll-related responsibilities.

To fulfill this commitment, the Comelec allocated nearly P7 billion for the provision of honoraria to the 2023 BSKE poll workers.

Notably, the BSKE chairman and electoral board members received increased honorarium amounts of P10,000 and P9,000, respectively, compared to the previous rates of P6,000 and P5,000.

The Department of Education (DepEd) has expressed its appreciation for the “timely release” of honoraria to its teachers and personnel.
