The Commission on Elections (Comelec) announced that 90% of the 72 million ballots needed for the May 12 elections have already been printed.
Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia stated that only about 8 million ballots remain to be printed, and the process is expected to be fully completed by March 16.
However, all printed ballots still need to be verified to meet quality standards, with nearly 30 million ballots already verified.
Garcia also mentioned that to expedite the manual verification, 300 additional verifiers were hired, joining the existing 800 staff.
The Comelec is using the Amoranto Stadium in Quezon City for the verification process and has implemented measures, such as using additional printing machines, to make up for a previous three-week printing delay caused by last-minute candidate insertions.Source: PhilNews24 | March 11, 2025
