Chery Tiggo secured their spot in the Philippine Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Final Four by defeating Galeries Tower Highrisers in a five-set match.
This victory marked Chery Tiggo’s seventh consecutive win and solidified their position in the semifinals.
Despite an inefficient spiking game, Eya Laure contributed 20 points, along with 5 blocks, 18 excellent receptions, and 11 excellent digs.
Veterans Ara Galang and Mylene Paat provided support with 13 and 9 points, respectively. Chery Tiggo’s head coach, Kungfu Reyes, appreciated the challenging match that prepared his team for the upcoming semifinals against Creamline, Choco Mucho, and Petro Gazz.
In another game, PLDT High Speed Hitters, already eliminated from the playoffs, ended their conference on a positive note by defeating Creamline in four sets.
Savi Davison led the charge with 27 points, supported by Erika Santos and Fiola Ceballos with 15 and 13 points, respectively. PLDT’s head coach, Rald Ricafort, focused on the team’s bright performance despite their elimination from the playoff contention.
The semifinals, featuring the top four teams, will begin on April 30 at the PhilSports Arena. The top two teams will advance to the best-of-three finals, with a playoff game tiebreaker in case of a tie in the standings.
