The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) has warned the public against the use of fake CFO certificates after two Filipinos were intercepted at the airport presenting counterfeit digital documents.
The Bureau of Immigration (BI) turned over the travelers to the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT) for further investigation.
CFO Chairperson Dante “Klink” Ang II emphasized that BI desk officers can easily detect such fraudulent documents due to their data-sharing agreement.
He warned that using fake documents can lead to offloading or criminal prosecution.
Ang also urged the public to deal only with authorized CFO personnel for their travel requirements.
