Cassandra Ong, a key suspect in the 2024 POGO scandal, is currently at large, Senator Win Gatchalian confirmed.
Ong was released from detention when the 19th Congress ended and did not have a case at the time, but a human trafficking case was later filed against her at the Pasig RTC.
Authorities are actively searching for her, and the Bureau of Immigration reports no record of her leaving the country, though there are concerns she might try to exit through backdoor means.
Ong previously evaded capture alongside POGO figures Alice and Shiela Guo, who escaped to Indonesia during the investigations.
The POGO scandal, which uncovered human trafficking and alleged Chinese espionage, led to a law banning offshore gaming in the Philippines, with Alice Guo already convicted.
