Newly proclaimed Senator Camille Villar expressed her support for a legislative inquiry into her family-owned PrimeWater Infrastructure Corp., which faces multiple complaints over service disruptions across the country.
She welcomed the investigation, saying it aligns with the will of the majority.
Consumer groups and the Bayan Muna Party-list have formally urged the government to cancel PrimeWater’s joint venture agreements due to frequent water interruptions in several areas.
Aside from backing the probe, Villar also pledged to advocate for laws promoting job creation and support for overseas Filipino workers.
She is among six winning senators from the administration-backed Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas coalition.
