CA GREENLIGHTS 32 NEW APPOINTMENTS FOR AFP OFFICIALS

The Commission on Appointments (CA) approved the ad interim appointments and nominations of 32 senior officers in the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Wednesday.

Senate President Francis Escudero, who chairs the CA, confirmed the approvals, with CA Majority Leader Rep. LRay Villafuerte praising the AFP’s dedication and contributions.

The hearing underscored the Philippine Navy’s commitment to protecting the West Philippine Sea, with Rear Adm. Roy Vincent Trinidad suggesting that a new diplomatic case against China could deter aggression.

Additionally, Speaker Martin Romualdez announced new House committee appointments following President Marcos’ appointment of TESDA chief Jose Francisco Benitez.

Notably, Rep. Florida Robes now leads the committee on housing and urban development, and several other lawmakers have been named vice-chairpersons for various committees.
