On Tuesday, Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime Bautista swore in the new general managers for the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) and the Philippine National Railways (PNR).
Oscar Bongon, previously the interim director of MRT-3, was officially appointed as its General Manager, bringing extensive experience from his 26-year career with the railway.
Bongon, a career engineer, has held several key positions within MRT-3, including roles in maintenance, safety, and engineering divisions.
Deovanni Miranda, the new PNR General Manager, is also a seasoned railway engineer, having served as the deputy project manager for the Metro Manila Subway Project and worked internationally on projects such as the Copenhagen Metro.
Both appointees are expected to leverage their extensive experience to advance their respective rail services.
