BINAY ISSUES WARNING TO BUSINESSES OVER MISREPRESENTATION OF OPERATIONS

Makati City Mayor Abby Binay warned that businesses misrepresenting their operations will face severe penalties, emphasizing zero tolerance for such practices.

This statement came after the Makati Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO) issued a closure order for Flying Future Services, Inc., which had been operating illegal offshore gaming activities despite holding a permit for an Information Technology (IT) company.

The closure order also revoked the company’s business license for violating local ordinances, with violators facing imprisonment or fines.

The company was raided on March 19 by law enforcement, resulting in the arrest of around 200 individuals on charges related to trafficking, illegal gambling, and cybercrime.

The BPLO has been actively working with the public to identify illegal establishments, shutting down 118 businesses last year for various violations.
