BIDEN, XI COMMIT TO EASE TENSIONS

WOODSIDE, United States – US President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping met for an important summit in California after a year of not meeting in person. They shook hands and made a promise to lower the rising tensions between their countries.

Biden emphasized the need to prevent competition from turning into a full-blown conflict, highlighting the importance of peaceful coexistence. Xi responded by saying that there is enough room on Earth for both countries to succeed, expressing a desire for harmony.

This meeting comes after a period of strained relations. The leaders last met in Bali in November 2022, and tensions increased after the United States allegedly shot down a Chinese spy balloon earlier this year.

Since then, both countries have been engaged in extensive diplomacy to bring the leaders together and address various issues causing tension, such as Taiwan, sanctions, and trade.

The summit was highly anticipated and aimed to reach agreements on resuming military contacts and collaborating to reduce the flow of the drug fentanyl to the United States.

However, both leaders made it clear that the main focus was on reducing tensions that have arisen due to a long-standing struggle for global dominance between the United States and China, which has become more assertive in recent years.
