ATENEO ADDRESSES CIDG HAZING PROBE, BACKS AFFECTED COMMUNITY MEMBERS

Ateneo de Manila University said it respects the PNP-CIDG’s recommendation to file anti-hazing charges against former men’s basketball coach Tab Baldwin and 10 others over a fatal team-building activity in Aurora.

The university said it will continue cooperating with authorities as the case undergoes review by the Department of Justice.

Ateneo also assured support for the students and staff named in the investigation, including legal and welfare assistance.

It emphasized that each respondent is entitled to fairness and due process throughout the legal proceedings.

The investigation stems from the deaths of student-athletes Rene Baterbonia and Divine Adili during the activity.
