Zamboanga del Sur Governor Victor Yu and Congressman Divina Grace Yu have urged the Anti-Terrorism Council (ATC) to designate two local mayors as terrorists.
The request comes amid allegations linking the mayors to armed groups responsible for violent incidents in the province.
The officials claimed that the designation is necessary to address security threats and protect communities.
The ATC is currently reviewing the petition, which includes evidence to support the allegations.
Meanwhile, the accused mayors have yet to respond publicly to the charges.
