ASEAN members have expressed strong support for greater regional connectivity, particularly in expanding air services, the Department of Tourism (DOT) said.
Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco highlighted opportunities for route development at Philippine gateways such as Manila, Cebu, Bohol, Davao, and Iloilo.
While infrastructure challenges remain, the government is promoting airport privatization in key tourist areas.
ASEAN welcomed an estimated 144 million foreign visitors in 2025 and praised member states for efforts to enhance connectivity, diversify tourism, and improve marketing.
Ministers also lauded the “three countries, one destination” program by Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam to boost intra-regional tourism.
