Director and actor Alden Richards was named a 2025 Most Valuable Taxpayer during the 2026 Tax Campaign Kick-off organized by the Bureau of Internal Revenue at the Jose Rizal Coliseum in Calamba, Laguna.
In his speech, Richards emphasized that the award is a reminder of civic responsibility and encouraged others, particularly in the private sector and entertainment industry, to fulfill their tax obligations faithfully.
He highlighted the role of public figures in promoting responsible citizenship and reminded everyone to pay the correct taxes on time.
The ceremony was live-streamed and shared by the GMA Sparkle Artist Center, allowing fans to witness the recognition.
In previous years, the BIR has also honored notable entertainers such as Vice Ganda, Kim Chiu, Kathryn Bernardo, and Daniel Padilla for their exemplary tax compliance.
