The Alas Pilipinas women’s volleyball team is preparing for a tough competition at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games in Thailand this December, with Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia also vying for podium finishes.
Fresh from a silver-medal performance at the AVC Nations Cup in Hanoi, the Filipinas aim to build on their momentum, guided by Brazilian coach Jorge De Brito and led by team captain Jia De Guzman.
Despite the SEA Games not offering world ranking points, Philippine volleyball officials stress the importance of strong performance and continued growth.
De Guzman believes the team can catch up with regional powerhouses if they stick to their program.
The team will also compete in the VTV Cup and SEA V. League ahead of the SEA Games.
