AirAsia Philippines canceled four Manila-Bacolod-Manila flights on Tuesday due to the eruption of Mt. Kanlaon, which is now under Alert Level 3.
The airline is offering recovery options to affected passengers in line with the Air Passenger Bill of Rights, while warning that other flights to Cebu, Tagbilaran, and Iloilo may also face delays.
AirAsia said it is closely monitoring volcanic ash activity and coordinating with aviation authorities for timely updates to passengers.
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM), advising aircraft to avoid the volcano’s summit due to hazardous ash.
The NOTAM is effective from May 13 at 5:33 a.m. until May 14 at 2:55 a.m.
