Detained former military agent Ramil Madriaga, who claims to be Vice President Sara Duterte’s bagman, has requested the NBI to conduct a forensic examination and data backup of his three cell phones to preserve communications supporting his allegations.
Madriaga, currently held for a kidnapping case in Taguig, said the data extraction is to substantiate a separate matter, not for his defense.
In a recent affidavit, he accused Duterte of receiving campaign funds from Philippine offshore gaming operators and drug lords in 2022.
His lawyers also alleged that Duterte visited him twice in detention, offering to help settle his case if he refrained from testifying.
Additionally, Madriaga’s affidavit linked former presidential spokesman Harry Roque and his wife to an alleged land-grabbing scheme in Bataan affecting local farmers.
