Former lawmaker and businessman Zaldy Co was arrested in Prague, Czech Republic, after allegedly entering the country without proper documents, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. announced on April 16.
Co is currently under the custody of Czech authorities after months of evading arrest while facing an investigation in the Philippines.
The Philippine government is now coordinating with Czech officials to arrange his immediate return to the country.
Co had left the Philippines in 2025 for medical treatment amid a flood control scandal and later became the subject of international tracking efforts after his passport was cancelled.
Marcos earlier said authorities were monitoring Co’s movements across Europe and vowed to pursue him through international cooperation to ensure accountability.
