Korean Ambassador Lee Sang-hwa visited WOFEX Manila 2025 to promote Korean cuisine, featuring 14 Korean companies showcasing a variety of agri-fishery products.
The expo, held at the SMX Convention Center from August 6 to 9, offered visitors popular Korean foods like gim, eomuk, and soju, along with cooking demos and recipe sharing.
The Netflix animated hit “K-Pop Demon Hunters” has helped boost global interest in Korean street food, with its characters shown enjoying favorites like tteokbokki and gimbap.
The Philippines ranks as the second-largest importer of Korean food in ASEAN, with exports reaching $165.1 million by mid-2025, a 5.3% increase from last year.
Notable growth was seen in categories such as instant noodles, seaweed, beverages, and coffee preparations.
