VP SARA SEEKS SENATE SUPPORT TO RESTORE BUDGET TO PREVENT JOB CUTS

Vice President Sara Duterte urged senators to restore a P1.3-billion cut from the Office of the Vice President’s (OVP) budget, citing risks of job losses for 200 personnel. The Senate adopted a reduced budget of P733 million but promised to revisit potential funding during amendments. Duterte expressed concerns about aid programs being affected and criticized the House investigation into her alleged fund misuse. Senators Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa and Bong Go vowed to advocate for budget restoration.
