Vice President Sara Duterte led the distribution of food assistance to LGBTQIA+ members and senior citizens in Barangay Gulod, Quezon City, under the Office of the Vice President’s Relief for Indigents and Individuals in Crises and Emergencies (RIICE) Program.
The activity was part of the OVP’s Kasarilayaan initiative, which recognizes the LGBTQIA+ community.
Duterte said the annual celebration was deferred this year due to national challenges, with the funds redirected to expand the RIICE Program.
She thanked local officials for supporting the aid distribution held on June 4.
The RIICE Program provides immediate assistance to individuals and families affected by crises and emergencies.
