Senator Mark Villar called for stronger security measures in and around schools following the fatal stabbing of a Grade 8 student from Las Piñas National High School.
Villar urged local government units, school officials, police, barangay authorities, and parents to work together to improve student safety and prevent violence near school premises.
He also expressed concern that the suspects were reportedly minors and out-of-school youth, stressing the need for expanded education and intervention programs.
The senator emphasized the importance of investing in mental health, youth support, and guidance initiatives to prevent juvenile delinquency.
Authorities are continuing their investigation as school officials review and strengthen campus security protocols.
