VEHICLE SALES HOLD FIRM DESPITE SLIGHT DROP IN AUGUST

Motor vehicle sales in the Philippines were relatively steady in August, with 39,155 units sold, a slight 0.4 percent decrease from July but a 6.7 percent increase from the previous year. 

Year-to-date sales reached 304,765 units, marking a 10.34 percent rise compared to the same period last year. 

Commercial vehicles drove the sales growth with 29,626 units sold, while passenger car sales dipped by 12.76 percent to 9,529 units in August. 

Toyota Motor Philippines led the market with 17,924 units sold, though sales declined 2.5 percent from the previous month. 

Industry optimism remains high, with a projected sales goal of 468,300 units for the year and the potential to reach 500,000 units.
