The United States has announced P13.8 billion ($250 million) in aid to the Philippines to strengthen health systems, improve disease detection, and enhance maternal and child health services.
This funding raises the total US foreign assistance to over P17 billion ($313 million), supporting initiatives like tuberculosis control, global health security, and nutrition.
US Ambassador MaryKay Carlson emphasized the commitment to the health and well-being of Filipinos and the long-term partnership between the two countries.
Separately, Japan pledged P805.76 billion in infrastructure funding, including projects like the Second San Juanico Bridge, Parañaque Spillway, and Coast Guard support facility to boost economic growth and disaster resilience.
These efforts highlight ongoing international support for the Philippines’ health and infrastructure development.
