UAE FIRMS EXPLORE KEY INVESTMENTS IN PHILIPPINE ENERGY AND INFRASTRUCTURE

Two UAE companies, Masdar and DAMAC Group, are eyeing investments in renewable energy and data center projects in the Philippines, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) reported.

Trade Secretary Cristina Roque said Masdar is considering three sites in Bohol for clean energy projects and is open to financing, managing, and partnering on renewable energy initiatives.

DAMAC is looking to build a data center in Laguna, while Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. (ADNOC) is exploring ways to expand its presence in the Philippine energy sector.

The Philippine delegation’s visit to the UAE coincided with the signing of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which offers preferential tariffs for about 95 percent of Philippine exports to the UAE.

Roque emphasized that the engagements signal growing investor confidence and reinforce the Philippines’ strategy to become a regional hub for clean energy and technology infrastructure.
