The University of the East (UE) and Ateneo are emerging as Final Four contenders in the UAAP Season 87 basketball tournaments.
UE’s Wello Lingolingo and Ateneo’s Kacey dela Rosa were named UAAP Players of the Week for October 2-6.
Lingolingo helped UE secure two victories, including a buzzer-beater against Adamson, to end Round 1 with a five-game winning streak and solo third place.
Dela Rosa, the reigning women’s MVP, continued her dominant form with two double-doubles, keeping Ateneo in the hunt for a third straight Final Four appearance.
Both players have been pivotal in their teams’ playoff push halfway through the season.
