U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed openness to meeting Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping during his planned visit to China next month.
Trump said a possible three-way meeting would focus primarily on nuclear weapons and denuclearization, although discussions could also touch on the war in Ukraine.
The proposal emerged after the Kremlin indicated that the three leaders could meet on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Shenzhen.
However, no final agreement on the meeting’s date, format, or agenda has been announced.
The potential summit could become a significant diplomatic development as the three major powers navigate nuclear security and international tensions.
