Former senator Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes IV and the civil society group The Silent Majority have filed graft and plunder complaints against Vice President Sara Duterte over her alleged misuse of confidential funds.
The complaints, submitted to the Office of the Ombudsman on January 21, cite P650 million from the Office of the Vice President and the Department of Education, as well as P2.7 billion from Davao City during her mayoral tenure.
Duterte is also accused of graft, malversation, and gross incompetence related to overpriced laptops, unliquidated cash advances, and incomplete classroom construction while she served as education secretary.
Additional allegations include possession of undeclared wealth, bribery from a drug lord, and betrayal of public trust, including incidents involving threats toward President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
The filing comes after a previous impeachment complaint against Duterte was dismissed by the Supreme Court in July 2025 for violating the one-impeachment-per-year rule.
