TEODORO NOT CONCERNED OVER POSSIBLE TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS FROM CHINA

Department of National Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. said he would not mind being barred from entering China, similar to former senator Francis Tolentino.

He emphasized that it is a country’s prerogative to allow or deny entry to anyone without explanation.

Tolentino was banned by China for his strong stance on Philippine maritime rights, particularly through bills affirming the country’s claims in the West Philippine Sea.

President Marcos recently signed the Philippine Maritime Zones Act and the Philippine Archipelagic Sea Lanes Act, strengthening the country’s maritime sovereignty.

These laws define the nation’s territorial waters, exclusive economic zones, and key sea lanes critical for national security and maritime jurisdiction.
