TENSIONS RISE AS CHINA TARGETS PHILIPPINE FISHERS AGAIN

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported an incident where a Chinese helicopter harassed Filipino fishermen near Ayungin Shoal in the West Philippine Sea.

According to the PCG, the aircraft flew at low altitudes, intimidating the fishers and forcing them to leave the area.

In response, the PCG deployed ships to the shoal to assert the country’s sovereignty and ensure the safety of Filipino fishers.

The incident highlights ongoing tensions between the Philippines and China over disputed waters in the South China Sea.

Government officials have condemned the harassment, calling for stronger measures to protect national interests and local communities.
